Does anyone out there who hasn’t heard about ‘Baklava‘ dessert? I guess not. If you haven’t heard let me tell you that it is the most delicious dessert in the world. It is a very rich taste dessert that is formed by extremely thin dough layers full of pistachios or walnuts and special syrup.
Turks and Greeks have an ongoing discussion about which country has invented this dessert first. I think; until we find a written record, no one will be sure who has invented it first. I am only sure about one thing that the Turkish Baklava has a trillion times better taste than a Greek one.
How to make Baklava?
Baklava is the most difficult dessert to make because you need to make the dough so thin that once you put the dough onto the roller, you have to see the other side. Can you imagine how thin is that? So for this reason, it takes decades to become a good Baklava chef.
Below, I shared a video of Christine Cushing, who is a reputable chef and recipe channel owner at YouTube. In her video below, you can see how Baklava is made from start to finish. The Baklava store, which she made this interview at, called “Karaköy Güllüoğlu”. It is the most famous Baklava store chain of Turkey.
Baklava is the only dessert that I am not going to share the recipe on my website because even if you are a 5 Star Michelin Chef, it will not possible for you to make it as same as shown in the below video. In the meantime, I will share the homemade baklava recipe with you. It is much simpler than this one. But until that time comes, you can give online orders from “Karaköy Güllüoğlu” baklava store to taste the Turkish Baklava or from the below links if you are not able to visit Turkey soon.
