Spicy Ezme

You are currently viewing Spicy Ezme

Spicy Ezme is the harmonization of mashed tomatoes, long green peppers, red peppers, and other delicious ingredients. Spicy Ezme served as a starter at Kebab restaurants with either toasted bread or pita aside.

A perfect Spicy Ezme can only be made with top-quality tomatoes and spices so that you have the best flavor. Also, you need to chop all the tomatoes with a knife, not in a food processor; otherwise, it gets too juicy and looks like tomato juice. Spicy Ezme is a treat that nobody can resist at any Kebab Restaurant in Turkey. You cannot imagine a Kebab Restaurant that doesn’t serve Spicy Ezme as a starter.

The Story of Spicy Ezme

In Turkey, we always try to reach the best taste so from start to finish we pay attention to the quality of the ingredients we use. In Turkey, the best spices are produced in the southeast region, and for this reason; the best Spicy Ezmes are made in the southern part of Turkey. Gaziantep, Adana, and Urfa cities are the most famous Turkish cities where you can find the best quality Spicy Ezme at. These 3 cities are considered the homeland of all Kebabs. So if you want to taste the best Spicy Ezme you should definitely visit one of these 3 cities.

If you ask me which one I would choose? Frankly speaking, I would visit all three of them because they are not far from each other. The tastes of the foods that you eat in these cities are seriously special. I don’t know why the food is so tasty there. I have visited almost all the cities in Turkey, and for just a food vacation, I would pick these three cities in advance. Here is the perfect recipe for Spicy Ezme that I have learned from one of my best friends who is running a Kebab restaurant in Adana City.
